Suitability, Fiduciary Rule & Social Media: Where are we now and where are we heading?

The past few years have presented a number of complex industry challenges affecting all stakeholders.  Member firms and advisors have made numerous changes to business models and types of products sold set against a backdrop of increasing and morphing regulatory efforts.  Main Street Americans, on the other hand, have been flooded with information concerning these changes in often confusing and sometimes conflicting terms.  This information-packed ___ hour program will provide attendees with an update as to key regulatory developments concerning the proposed fiduciary rule, ongoing suitability standard expectations and social media traps and pitfalls.

Goals of attendance include:

  1. Understanding the proposed fiduciary rule in its current form and how it may impact your business;

  2. Proper selection of suitable products and recognizing soon-to-be problem accounts; and

  3. Leveraging electronic and other available tools to ethically grow your business while staying inside regulatory lanes.

Wes Booker, Wes Booker Agency

Wes Booker

My name is Wes Booker from White Hall, Arkansas.  After growing up and graduating from White Hall High School and University of Central Arkansas, I decided to move back to pursue my career and give back to my community. One of my passions is to serve on many boards of directors and volunteer my time wherever needed. As the current owner and CEO of Wes Booker Agency, I am the exclusive insurance agent that supervises other agents, office staff, manage and serve all of my clients’ insurance needs.  Before opening my business in 2010, I worked for Farm Bureau Insurance Agency as an agent for 8 years.  The customer service field is my passion and I enjoy helping others with their financial needs.  I started refereeing at the junior and senior high level while in college, and have gradually worked my way up to where I am today as a football official in the Southeastern Conference.  I have been fortunate enough to work several bowl games on top of my regular season schedule.  I love the game of football and been very blessed to be able to officiate. More importantly, to be able to mentor and teach the ones who are trying to pursue a career in football officiating as well.  In 2017, we started the inaugural Wes Booker Football Officials Camp.

The reason I do what I do is because of my love of helping and serving others.  My mom taught me at a very young age the foundation of good morals and Christian principles.  Those principles have stuck with me and now I am instilling those same principles into my children, the children I coach, clients I serve, and the young folks trying to pursue an officiating career.

This last year my session, “Field Presence” has been approved for 1 hour of “General” HRCI credit hours and 1 hour of SHRM PDC’s. Hold on to your seats and be prepared to be motivated like no other time in your life!!!!
