Janice Domke, Life/Health Insurance Agent
With over 20 years in the insurance and financial services industry, Janice’s expertise is in the areas of life, health, income protection and Medicare insurance. In 2015, Janice obtained the National Social Security Advisor designation and assists individuals and couples in optimizing Social Security benefits.
As an independent insurance agent with Heartman Insurance, Janice feels it is important to understand the client’s needs and educate them on their choices so they can make an educated buying decision.
Many clients comment that after talking over complex insurance issues with Janice, it’s the first time they actually understood their insurance coverage. Her ability to explain insurance concepts in layman’s terms has served her well and has made it easier her client’s to make an informed decision on coverage options.
Janice is married with two grown children, three grown step-children and eight grandchildren, so far. With her husband, Janice owned a small bar for in a rural town northeast of Rochester for nine years, which provides her with a first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by small business owners.
Community involvement is a large part of Janice’s life; she currently is serving her third term as City Council Person for the City of Hammond and was elected Clerk/Treasurer. She is active in several non-profits or committees that seek to reduce the impact of future flooding in the Zumbro River Valley; she’s a member of The Rotary Club of Rochester and is currently serving as President. Janice is also a member of Rochester-NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) and served on that board for eight years as Treasurer. Previously, Janice served on the
Health Care Committee for the Rochester Chamber of Commerce which provided guidance to the Chamber on Health Care issues facing its Members.
Janice was born in Washington State and moved with her family to Rochester at a young age,
attending school in Rochester and graduating from John Marshall High School in 1981. In 1982,
Janice moved to the Twin Cities area to find work, which began her career in the financial services industry, eventually leading to her obtaining her life/health insurance license. In 1999, Janice
returned to the Rochester area for personal reasons and resides in Hammond, MN with her husband,
a dog and two cats. They enjoy camping and kayaking with their children and grandchildren.
